Max: "Mommy, you're taking a shower?"
Me: "Yes honey, I am"
Max: "But it's not the morning! Why you taking a shower at night?"
Me: "Because I have to wash my hair and Mommy doesn't have time to do that in the morning"
Max: "Oh... I understand Mommy!"
